MAKING A DIFFERENCE: The Heart of TEACHING

The Heart Of Teaching is an effective course designed to help improve teaching by examining the quality of teaching.

The course is designed for educational practitioners in classroom and administrative positions and is premised on the belief that only those who have a thorough knowledge of great teaching should be allowed to teach our children. Our primary objective is to encourage and assist students in a personal examination of their character, personality, and behavior as compared to the themes common to the best teachers. Research shows clearly what our best teachers are and do. THOT will not only study this, it will allow the student to experience a strength inventory providing valuable personal insight relative to his or her own strengths as they relate to the best in the field.

Ron Clark is the teacher we should all strive to be. His teaching style is one that we should work toward emmulating. Whether taking The Heart of Teaching as a 3 credit class, or inviting us to come and share The Heart of Teaching as a Professional Development day, we strive to give you the confidence, inspiration, and skills to work toward being a teacher who can "teach who you are" and truly understand what children need to become life long learners.
"Ron Clark is a teacher who made a difference in the lives of inner city children and parents. His goal was to raise test scores but he knew that the only way to do that was through developing relationships with his students and their families. He continues to teach and make a difference by believing that teaching who you are comes first and the learning follows close behind!"
